Dr. Frank spoke about autism, a neuropsychiatric disorder, where the person affected has problems in social interaction and communication, and exhibits repetitive behaviors.
Of great significance is the connection between autism and the Shank 3 gene. The alteration of the Shank 3 gene interferes with appropriate nerve cell function in the brain.
In closing, Dr. Frank gave the parents of autistic children advice on coping, but above all, the doctor reminded the parents about the importance of also taking care of themselves
so that they may be emotionally strong to care for their children.
Dr. Frank is a Pediatric Neurologist and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Murthy specifically spoke about congenital heart defects children are born with when the heart does not develop normally while the baby is growing in the womb.
Many of these children will require a heart transplant in the future. Dr. Murthy also addressed the psychological aspect of the situation. He explained how parents prepare
their children for heart transplantation surgery. In closing, the doctor discussed the advancements and innovations in heart assist devices.

Dr. Tepper and Dr. Scigliano specialize in hearing loss in children and adults. During the course of the medical show, Dr. Tepper and Dr. Scigliano informed the worldwide audience about The Ear Institute, one of the few centers that offers early intervention to infants and toddlers with hearing loss. The doctors use a family-centered approach, individual therapies, and small parent/child groups, all of which give the parents the necessary tools to help their child.

The doctor spoke about the aortic valve. The aortic valve closes off the left ventricle and opens to allow the oxygen-rich blood to leave the heart to the aorta
and to the rest of the body. If it presents with either stenosis or calcification, the defective valve is replaced with either a tissue or mechanical valve.

Dr. Merad is Director of the Precision Immunology Institute and Mount Sinai Chair Cancer Immunology, and Director of Human Immune Monitor Center.
Dr. Merad is Professor of Oncological Science Medicine (Hematology/Oncology) Division, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
