Εκλεκτός καλεσμένος στην εκπομπή του Mount Sinai Hospital την Τρίτη, 18 Οκτωβρίου, και για τις δύο ώρες, ήταν ο παγκοσμίως διακεκριμένος γιατρός Dr. Mike Yao. 
Το πρώτο θέμα συζήτησης ήταν ο καρκίνος του θυρεοειδούς αδένος, ένας καρκίνος που επηρεάζει περισσότερο τις γυναίκες από τους άντρες. 
Ο γιατρός αναφέρθηκε  στις αιτίες και στα συμπτώματα και περιέγραψε με λεπτομέρεια τις επιλογές θεραπείας. 
Ο Dr. Yao συνέχισε με τον καρκίνο του λάρυγγα.  Κύριοι παράγοντες είναι οι τοξικές ουσίες και ορισμένες συμπεριφορές, ειδικά σε χώρες όπου οι κάτοικοι συνηθίζουν
να μασάνε φύλλα καπνού.  Ο γιατρός δεν παρέλειψε να αναφέρει την σημαντικότητα της έγκαιρης διάγνωσης, αφού η θεραπεία εξαρτάται από τις διαβαθμίσεις της νόσου.

Ο Dr. Yao είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Ωτορινολαρυγγολογίας στην Ιατρική Σχολή Άϊκαν του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai.
Ο γιατρός είναι συμβεβλημένος με το Νοσοκομείο Mount Sinai στο Μανχάτταν και από τον Ιανουάριο του 2017 θα παρέχει ιατρική φροντίδα στους ασθενείς και στο Mount Sinai Queens.

On Tuesday, October 18, Dr. Mike Yao was the distinguished guest on the Mount Sinai Medical Show.
The doctor began by discussing thyroid cancer, a medical condition that affects women three times more than it does men.  Dr. Yao covered the causes
and symptoms and informed the audience all about the medical and surgical treatments available.
Dr. Yao then focused on cancer of the larynx, a cancer that can be devastating not only physically but emotionally as well.  The major risk factors include
toxic substances and certain behaviors, especially in countries where the population tends to chew tobacco leaves as a habit.
Dr. Yao also stressed the importance of an early diagnosis, as treatment depends on the staging of the disease.

Dr. Yao is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
The doctor is affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and as of January, 2017 he will also be practicing out of Mount Sinai Queens.
