Την Τρίτη, 15 Μαϊου εκλεκτός καλεσμένος στην  ιατρική εκπομπή του Νοσοκομείου  Mount Sinai με την Φαίη Κοζά ήταν ο  παγκοσμίως  διακεκριμένος γιατρός Dr. Richard Whelan.  Ο γιατρός μίλησε για  γαστρεντερολογικές παθήσεις  αλλά περισσότερο επικεντρώθηκε  στην ενδοσκοπική αφαίρεση μεγάλων καλοήθων πολυπόδων  από το παχύ έντερο,
 ένα επίτευγμα που αναπτύχθηκε  στην Ιαπωνία από Ιάπωνες  γιατρούς.  Ο Dr. Whelan και η ομάδατου εφαρμόζουν αυτή την  χειρουργική   με δεξιοτεχνία που  δύσκολα αποκτάται.  Στην συνέχεια της ιατρικής εκπομπής ο
γιατρός μίλησε στους ακροατές για την σημαντικότητα της σωστής  διατροφής.  Ο Dr. Whelan είναι Επικεφαλής Διευθυντής στο Τμήμα  Χειρουργικής Παχέος Εντέρου και  Ορθού στο Mount Sinai St. Luke's/Roosevelt και  Καθηγητής  Χειρουργικής στην Ιατρική Σχολή  Άϊκαν του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai. 

 
On Tuesday, May 15th, Dr. Richard
 Whelan was the distinguished guest on the Mount Sinai  Medical Show hosted by Fay Kozas.
 The doctor spoke about gastrointestinal  diseases but focused mainly on the endoscopic removal of
 large benign polyps from the large intestine, a breakthrough  developed  in Japan by Japanese doctors.  Dr.  Whelan and his team provide a unique approach as this  procedure requires a set of skills that are difficult to  acquire.    In the course of the medical show, the  doctor also spoke about the importance of a nutrient-rich  diet. 
 
 Dr. Whelan is Chief, section of Colon
 and Rectal Surgery at Mount Sinai St. Luke's/Roosevelt and
 Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at
 Mount Sinai.
