Την Τρίτη, 25 Σεπτεμβρίου, εκλεκτή καλεσμένη στην εκπομπή του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai με την Φαίη Κοζά ήταν η παγκοσμίως διακεκριμένη γιατρός 
Dr. Joyce Fogel.  Η γιατρός επικεντρώθηκε σε ένα θέμα που πολλές φορές αποφεύγουμε να συζητήσουμε--τα γηρατειά.  Συγκεκριμένα αναφέρθηκε στην 
νόσο Άλζχαϊμερ, μία νευροεκφυλιστική πάθηση που προκαλεί την νέκρωση κυττάρων του μυαλού με την πάροδο του χρόνου.  Επίσης ενημέρωσε τους ακροατές 
για το Safe Return Medical Alert Bracelet, ένα βραχιόλι που βοηθά στην έγκαιρη εντόπιση του ηλικιωμένου που έχει χάσει τον προσανατολισμό του.  Κλείνοντας, 
η γιατρός έδοσε συμβουλές στα άτομα που προσφέρουν φροντίδα σε ασθενείς αφού και αυτά τα άτομα χρειάζονται κάποια υποστήριξη.

Η Dr. Fogel είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγήτρια Γηριατρικής και Παρηγορητικής Φροντίδας στην Ιατρική Σχολή Άϊκαν του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai.

On Tuesday, September 25th, Dr. Joyce Fogel was the distinguished guest on the Mount Sinai Medical Show hosted by Fay Kozas.
The doctor addressed a topic that sometimes may be difficult to discuss--geriatrics.  The doctor specifically spoke about Alzheimer's, a neurodegenerative 
disease that causes brain cell death over time and informed the worldwide audience about the Safe Return Medical Alert Bracelet, a device that helps to safely 
return a missing or wandering elder.  In closing, Dr. Fogel also gave advice to the caregivers who may be stressed and require support themselves. 

Dr. Fogel is Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
