Την Τρίτη, 17 Οκτωβρίου, εκλεκτή καλεσμένη στην εκπομπή του νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai με την Φαίη Κοζά ήταν η παγκοσμίως διακεκριμένη αγγειοχειρουργός
Dr. Ageliki Vouyouka. Η γιατρός επικεντρώθηκε στην υγεία των αγγείων, συγκεκριμένα στην αποφρακτική αρτηριοπάθεια των κάτω άκρων, μία πάθηση που
χαρακτηρίζεται από την μειωμένη παροχή αίματος στα κάτω μέλη, εξ'αιτίας της στένωσης ή της απόφραξης των αρτηριών. Εκπληκτικό είναι πως ακόμη και οι έφηβοι είναι ευάλωτοι,
κάτι που οφείλεται στην διατροφή. Κατά την διάρκεια της ιατρικής εκπομπής, η Dr. Vouyouka αναφέρθηκε επίσης στις εξελίξεις και στις καινοτομίες στον χώρο θεραπείας και έδωσε
στους ακροατές συμβουλές για μιά καλύτερη ποιότητα ζωής.

Η Dr. Vouyouka είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγήτρια Χειρουργικής και Ακτινολογίας στην Ιατρική Σχολή Άϊκαν του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai.

On Tuesday, October 17th, Dr. Ageliki Vouyouka was the distinguished guest on the Mount Sinai Medical Show, hosted by Fay Kozas.
The doctor spoke about vascular health, specifically peripheral arterial disease, a condition where the blood circulation in the arteries is reduced either because of a narrowing of the
arteries or because of a blockage due to the accumulation of plaque. Surprisingly, the condition can also present in teenagers, mostly as a result of poor diet. In the course of
the presentation, Dr. Vouyouka discussed the major advancements and innovations in treatments and gave the worldwide audience advice for a better quality of life.

Dr. Vouyouka is Assistant Professor of Surgery and Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
