Την Τρίτη, 9  Ιανουαρίου, 2018, εκλεκτός  καλεσμένος στην εκπομπή του  νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai με την Φαίη
 Κοζά ήταν ο παγκοσμίως  διακεκριμένος χειρουργός Dr. Gustavo  Fernandez-Ranvier.   Ο γιατρός   επικεντρώθηκε στην αφαίρεση του  θυρεοειδή αδένα με ελάχιστη
 επεμβατική χειρουργική.   Συγκεκριμένα, ο γιατρός αναφέρθηκε στην διαστολική  θυρεοειδεκτομή, η αφαίρεση του  θυρεοειδή από το 
 εσωτερικό του  στόματος, και στην μασχαλιαία  θυρεοειδεκτομή, αφαίρεση που  γίνεται από την μασχάλη.  Και  στις δύο περιπτώσεις τα σημάδια
 της χειρουργικής δεν είναι  ορατά.  Όπως πάντα, οι ακροατές  έδειξαν  μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον  κάνοντας εύστοχες ερωτήσεις
 στον γιατρό. Ο Dr. Fernandez-Ranvier είναι  Επίκουρος Καθηγητής  Μεταβολισμού, Ενδοκρινών και  Ελάχιστα Επεμβατικής  Χειρουργικής στην Ιατρική Σχολή  Άϊκαν του Νοσοκομείου Mount Sinai.  

On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, Dr.  Gustavo Fernandez-Ranvier was the distinguished guest on the  Mount Sinai Medical Show hosted by Fay Kozas.  The doctor spoke about minimally  invasive surgery for the removal of the thyroid gland such  as transoral thyroidectomy, a procedure by which the thyroid  is removed from the inside of the mouth, and transaxillary thyroidectomy, where the  thyroid is removed from the armpit.  In both cases there  are no visible scars.  As always, the audience called with  interesting questions for the doctor.  Dr. Fernandez-Ranvier is Assistant  Professor of Metabolic, Endocrine, and Minimally Invasive  Surgery a t the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
