Την Τρίτη, 10 Ιανουαρίου, εκλεκτή καλεσμένη στην εκπομπή του Mount Sinai με την Φαίη Κοζά ήταν η παγκοσμίως διακεκριμένη γιατρός Dr. Yelena Globina.
Η γιατρός αναφέρθηκε πρωτίστως στους περιβαλλοντικούς κινδύνους υγείας, όπως τα φυτοφάρμακα και τα εντομοκτόνα. Ενδιαφέρον προκάλεσε η αναφορά της γιατρού στη συσχέτιση
παιδικού άσθματος και εντομοκτόνων, αφού τα παιδιά που κατοικούν σε διαμερίσματα με κατσαρίδες και άλλα έντομα αναπνέουν τις διάφορες τοξικές ουσίες που χρησιμοποιούνται για την εξόντωση των εντόμων. Η γιατρός συνέχισε με το σύνδρομο καρπιαίου σωλήνα, πιθανόν αποτέλεσμα εργασίας που απαιτεί επαναλαμβανόμενη κίνηση της χειρός.
Η γιατρός επίσης συμβούλεψε τους ακροατές για μιά καλύτερη ποιότητα ζωής.

On Tuesday, January 10, Dr. Yelena Globina was the highly distinguished guest on the Mount Sinai Medical Show hosted by FayKozas.
Dr. Globina initially spoke about environmental health hazards, such as pesticides and insecticides. Of significant importance is the link between childhood asthma and
insecticides, as children who live in buildings infested with cockroaches and other pests, inhale the toxic substances used to wipe out the vermin. In the course of the presentation, the doctor also referred to carpal tunnel syndrome, a nerve disorder of the hand, caused by repetitive motion. Dr. Globina also gave the worldwide listeners advice for a better quality of life.
Dr. Globina is Assistant Clinical Professor of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
